22/10/2025 - Friendship as motivator

It's hard keeping motivated all the time, it's a lot easier to fall into the rhythm of daily life and not add anything onto it. Atleast that's how I experience it.

Some days it's because the daily life, going to work, cleaning the house, taking care of the household and all of that is such an easy cycle to get lost in. Any free time goes to that and even if there is free time, I'd rather spend it playing videogames and not thinking about creating.

I got motivated recently by a wonderful decision a friend is making, one to go backpacking and explore the world. And honestly, what a fun idea. They will be coming back of course but for many months they will be going from place to place in a completely different country. So, I decided to give them a little 'goodbye' gift, a painting. The subject of said painting being something funny but also a little sentimental and personal.

Photography on the daily

The most consistent creating will be photography, as it is easy to just snap a picture when my eye takes a liking to it. Especially, since I work almost daily and have to travel quite far to get there. Down below is a gallery of some pictures at the Train station, where I catch the train to my job. And this beautiful yellow café that sits across from it, an absolutely gorgeous thing.

Even when it rains, it's a stunning image. It's one of those things I've taken a liking to, seeing this pretty building whenever I  go to work, contrasting with the sky and the pedestrains walking by. Now that the sun is out earlier, I sadly do not get to experience the wonderous evening sky with the building or the traintracks but I do have a few images in the gallery that show what it was like.

The third one is a favourite of mine (although number 1 is my all time favourite of the yellow house series), the lights of both buildings shining brightly on the yellow/orange buildings and the sky stunning with it's many clouds and formations and this purple/pink/blueish colouring to it. The people going on about their day, the train that just left which you cannot know but I do.

This station is an absolute wonder to visit every time, it might be haunted by the high school kids that get on there every day to get to school and back but it's gorgeous and when I have the time of day I stand and admire it as much as I can.

After all, romanticizing things in my life makes life a little bit easier to digest.
