After graduating from the Art Academy, it's been very hard to consistently make art and be passionate about it. They talk about the 'black hole' at school very often, and it was as bleak as they spoke about. A sudden loss of what to do with your art and how to continue onwards, a lack of passion and love for something so close to my heart. 
 
In the fourth year of my studies, I met someone special. This person has become my best friend and shares my love for art, and has also experienced this lack of passion. We both agree that the last two years of the Art Academy stripped us of our enthusiasm and left us hollow. 
 
Over the past years, we've been trying to keep each other motivated to draw, to take pictures and videos and continue our creativity in any possible way. 
 
This summer, we went on vacation together, two full weeks of having each other near when we usually don't. It was overwhelming and wonderful at the same time, so many emotions and possibilities. When all the feelings slowed and calmed down, we decided to sit down together and draw; it didn't have to be something largely meaningful, just a simple picture would do.

That's where these drawings came from. Years of uninspiredness, the biggest art block I've had, trying to get overcome by simply sitting down with someone special and putting pen to paper.

Embrace..

On the right is a drawing I've named 'Embrace..', it's one of the only drawings I've made this vacation with a piece of meaning behind it. It stems from a picture that my friend took during the vacation of my best friend and me, one where we are in an embrace, a special one. As we live in different countries, being able to hug is something out of the ordinary; there is so much to be said in the space between that is the hug. So many I love you's and I miss you's that can be said, but it doesn't need to because we have a single embrace that says it all.
